Pharmacological action:Echinaforce forte tablets has a modulating effect on the immune response. The alkylamides are the active components in Echinaforce forte tablets. They bind specifically to the CB2-receptor, an endocannabinoid receptor. Through this linkage, activation of the gene for tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) takes place. The reaction to pathogens with Echinaforce results in a modulated release of TNF-alpha and acts to produce a long-lasting response of the immune system.
